PM Blazer™ Lite – PMP® or CAPM® Exam Prep

Initiative & Project Management

IP205 | Length: 3 days | Credits: 21 contact hours/PDUs

Overview

This program is primarily based on the Project Management Institute’s (PMI®) ‘A Guide to The Project Management Body of Knowledge’ (PMBOK®) standards and certification process for the designation of Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) from PMI®.

PM Blazer™ Lite is a comprehensive program that will assist individuals in their preparation for taking PMI®‘s certification exam. PMI®’s exam covers each section of the PMBOK® guide and other reference materials. This program covers each of these sections including an introduction to the PMBOK® guide and the project management context, and project management processes. PM-Blazer Lite is based on the PMBOK® 5th edition, including the 6th domain covering ‘Professional Responsibility’ and based on the PMP® Role Delineation Study.

An inherent benefit from PM Blazer™ Lite is the acquisition of basic principles of project management, since the PMBOK® guide encompasses only those elements which through application have come to be generally accepted as “good” project management. Each section of PM Blazer™ Lite is presented in seminar/workshop format and includes workshop studies where appropriate. The participant is provided with the processes and their detailed content for each PMBOK® knowledge area in a manner that is focused on preparation for the CAPM® or PMP® certification exam.

PM Blazer™ Lite has been designed, developed and is instructed by certified PMP®s. The instructors are all very experienced project management professionals and bring a wealth of practical information to the program. They relate this experience with the participants and draw upon the participant’s own environment (& terminology) to provide a clear relationship and understanding of the PMBOK® guide and the exam. The sessions can be consecutive or distributed over a period of time.

Program Audience

The program is designed for potential or existing project managers who are planning on writing the CAPM® or PMP® exam. We recommend that participants should be within 6 months of meeting PMI®’s qualification requirements and prepared to write the exam within that time frame.

Program Provides

Introduction and comprehensive coverage of PMI®‘s ten PMBOK® Knowledge Areas and the related PM processes. At the end of the course, a sample exam is provided to simulate the exam experience. Follow-up review and discussion of the answers, as well as any issues and concerns arising from the sample exam is provided after the in class session giving students time to take the practice exams.

Program Length

Programs of any length between 2-3 days can be accommodated, in a modular format. The more condensed the program, the more ‘self-study’ will be required from the participant.
